★★★★★“I would like to say that the hotel is located in an extremely suitable place in Old Town, all attractions, museums and the beach are in close walking distance. Service is really good for the price you pay, you would expect to get clean towels upon request as well as cleaning your room. Overall, rooms were neat and clean when I checked in. The shared bathrooms were great, they had a hair dryer and proper showers with cold and warm water, also had shower gel and shampoos which was helpful. The stuff at the reception was nice and helpful, overall I am quite happy with my stay at this place and would definitely recommend it for others!”
★★★★★“For the cost its perfect, you get a room, shared bathroom and shared kitchen, everything you need for a 1 week stay in alicante. The city is very walkable to so you're close to everything needed and only a 30 min walk from the big beach. Kitchen has a microwave and kettle. It was a little confusing on where to go but if you go during the check in times youll figure it out Pros Great location Great price for what you get Big room God lovely air conditioning 1 of the bathrooms was great Service was class, nice lady and kind lad managing it Room was clean It was quiet, i didnt hear anyone during my stay Location, you can get anywhere with a quick walk Shower pressure was very good and offered hot and cold water Cons 1 bathrooms lock didn't really work properly but I just used the other one Bed was wobbly No view at all (im there to drink so idrc) No aircon in bathroom (prob normal in spain but the heat was annoying to shit in) I didnt know how to lock the window if it locks at all which was a little uncomfortable because it went to a floor where people could go In one of the showers the holder was broken so you had to lay it weirdly on the tap Overall very worth the stay, amazing”
★★★★★“The only positive aspect of this experience was the location.||Unfortunately, the accommodation itself was nothing like the pictures shown on Booking.com. When my daughter and I arrived, we were asked to pay a €50 deposit, which was supposed to be refunded at check-out. As of writing this review, I still haven’t received it.||When we got to the room, we were shocked. It was smelly, damp, and felt completely unsafe. The bedroom walls were covered in mold and damp patches due to water leaks from the shared bathroom next door. The ceiling was cracked and moldy, and the curtains were filthy. Lighting was poor—there was only one switch, inconveniently placed by the door. If you need to turn on the light at night, you have to get out of bed and risk bumping into the wall-mounted table.||There was no proper window; just a view into an internal, enclosed area cluttered with storage, cleaning chemicals, and alarmingly, four large gas canisters—one of which was connected to the hot water boiler. This setup felt extremely unsafe.||The shared bathroom was equally unpleasant: smelly, moldy, with a loose toilet seat and inconsistent hot water. Every sound from the bathroom—people using the toilet, shower, hairdryer—could be heard from our room. The noise continued well into the night and early morning.||We ended up leaving the room early in the day and returning late just to avoid spending time there. We could not rest, not even for an hour during the day.||If this was their idea of a “deluxe room,” I can’t imagine what a standard room looks like.||It’s unclear what the €50 deposit was for. The air conditioning was barely functional, and nothing about this experience matched the high rating of 8.6 on Booking.com. It makes me question how such ratings are determined.||Do not waste your money on this place. Walking around the town, we saw better accommodations in better locations for the same price. I strongly believe Booking.com should reconsider listing this property to avoid putting guests at risk.||If you want a safe and enjoyable stay in Alicante, stay away from this place.”
★★★★★“I had an extremely disappointing experience with Old Town Alicante, and I feel compelled to warn other travelers. Firstly, the property is listed as a hotel on booking platforms, but it is, in fact, a budget hostel. This misrepresentation is misleading and sets false expectations for guests expecting hotel-level amenities and service. To make matters worse, I was unable to check in due to a flight delay (Flight PHHI2M from Barcelona to Alicante on June 25, 2025, delayed by 4 hours). Upon arrival after 8:00 PM, I was informed of an unadvertised 15 EUR late check-in fee, which was not mentioned anywhere in the booking conditions. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and feels like a hidden charge to exploit guests. The overall experience was frustrating, and the misrepresentation of the property combined with the unexpected fee made it impossible to recommend Old Town Alicante. Travelers should be cautious and clarify all conditions before booking.”
